So it’s very easy to open keyword planner tool as shown image above. So now let’s use some keyword to research as well. In this tutorial I will use keyword as “make chocolate” now let’s look at the image once again:

So you can see image above, we have to use a keyword as “make chocolate”.  Now according to your niche you need to input your own targeted keyword. And  on your landing page, you want to put your  competitor’s website so that we can outrank their site. if you don’t have competitor then you can leave default. Now on your product category, you want to select your related niche.

On targeting column, you can set location according to where you wanna target your keyword. now other all option you can leave it as default and click on get ideas. Now once you click on get ideas it will show you all report according to your keyword.

As you guys can see that it shows a lot of keyword for “Make chocolate” and I  have chosen my targeted one. As you guys can see on the image above it’s “How to make chocolate” for to make YouTube videos because it has low competition and a good number of searches. If you want for the website then go to low search but more than 1k monthly average searches. So if you try to google search same keyword “How to make chocolate”  then you can see image below:

Now you can see that when I search  “How to make chocolate”  it already result in me the keyword that it is already been used. So we can’t use  “How to make chocolate” instead of that we should be using “how to make chocolate from cocoa powder”. So now we should use the long tail keyword that even google search is recommending for to use. So we pick up keyword  “How to make chocolate from cocoa powder”. If you are using the website then  you can use this keyword simply because no one is even using it and you can rank it easily. But in the case of YouTube, you need to research again once more on YouTube search as well.

Let’s search on YouTube search

Input same keyword on YouTube search now and let’s test it again  “How to make chocolate from cocoa powder”.  So after I search I get these result :

You can see that keyword that I have used is “How to make chocolate from cocoa powder” Right. So it shows me result that it exactly match with one video. So it means I should not make the video on the same keyword because it will not outrank that video. Now we need to add more words on for not to make the same keyword so now my primary keyword for my YouTube video will be  “How to make chocolate from cocoa powder 2016- easily”. 

So this type of keyword are call long tail keyword and it’s easy to rank using long tail. Even you can see that our competitor video is outdated, and one thing YouTube always try to get fresh and new content so if we try to rank for our primary keyword then we can easily rank that video. Old content will go down and down because the old video is not interesting in watching by everyone.
